Buy or rent workout tapes or DVDs. Hi Troy — Sorry to hear that that was your experience. To lose weight and keep it off, you need to exercise. By the 3rd month, I had lost even more weight and people were starting to notice. I felt like everyone had abandoned me. I know I had to do something because what am I going to take after I am done with Levoxyl? Needless to say, I did lose 40 lbs in 3 months, but it was hard work and I was always hungry.

We do our best to keep them current, but ultimately the awesome folks at Nutrisystem decide how much things will cost, and they may change periodically.
I certainly liked reading all that is written on your site. Keep the posts coming. Trying to figure out what works best for me. ET the day before your order is scheduled to be processed by calling My brother recommended I might like this website. He was entirely right. This post truly made my day. You can not imagine just how much time I had spent for this information! Buy food to supplement 2 of their meals and one snack every day.
Oh and supply the food for 2 flex meals each week. You will save a good amount of money. Pus the food will taste better. I still think Nutrisystem is fairly priced, and is an excellent resource for people looking to lose weight quickly. You will get results when following their plan, which is why it can be a great option for a lot of people who have a significant amount of weight to lose. For me, it has been a good way to reset after weight gain, and then I can go back to focusing on eating healthy and preparing meals on my own, sort of like you plan to do.
In any case, hope your month went well, and best of luck with your weight loss journey. You have made some good points, and the pricing info is well-detailed. Thanks Carla, happy to hear you found the information useful — if you decide to try Nutrisystem, I hope it goes well!
Thanks for the pricing info. Has anyone else been able to do this? Hi Cindy — Thanks for visiting, and happy to hear the pricing info helped! I think 5 to 10 pounds is totally doable, especially if you commit to the full 2 months! Remember, Nutrisystem does offer counselors to help keep you on track, and as long as you stick to the program, you should see a significant amount of weight loss during that time period!
That has definitely been a key to success for me over the years. In any case, best of luck — let us know how it goes! I was pretty pleased to find this web site and your cost breakdown is very detailed. Thanks for all of the information — it makes my decision a lot easier.
You may be converting the T4 to reverse T3 and this Reverse T3 is docking in the T3 receptor sites and disabling them form being activated by actual T3. If you're a health care professional and you haven't heard that Synthroid or Levothyroxine will cause weight gain, you're completely out of touch.
I was 50 yrs old when diagnosed, had already had three children and had only weighed 9 mos. Absolutely nothing made me gain weight. I weighed 98 at age 50 and within five mos. This is a very common complaint, and nobody seems to be able to explain it or care. It has nothing to do with conversion of T4 to T3 or not having enough T4 ;medication.
Right now, I am running scared because every now and then, the weight will start coming on without a reason. My dosage was raised, and I started gaining faster along with having heart palpitations and hot flashes. Labs showed I had gone hyperthyroid. Weight is now at I have been on levothyroxine for 3 months and went from to ! I workout 6 days a week. I am about to say screw it to the meds! Yep, same with me!
I was and went up to in 7 months! I am no longer hypothyroid and I am saying screw these meds too. I'm pissed because I watch my diet very carefully and walk about 2 miles 4 times a week plus strength training 3 times a week. To Basncasmom, I used to take Levothroid few years back and it seemed to work fine with me. But then I don't know exactly when they stopped giving out Levothroid and switched to Levothroxine without my knowledge so my major noticed was in summer of I called my doctor and they did the blood tests and my tsh was in lower range putting me in Hyperthyroid while I was totally feeling Hypo symptoms.
I kept taking it and working out and eating same as always. I am very good as far as eating right. But my weight never came off and finally after searching online I asked to switched to Amour. I lost 7 LBS in 5 days in Amour but also I lost a lot of hair, very dry skin, very dry hair, very tired and I felt like I was flushed all the time and my skin looked like it had red flushed dots on it.
I took it for 3 months. Finally had it after weighing the pros and cons. I decided to give Synthroid the try and it was expensive and I took it for 3 months. I gained back my weight but my bad symptoms decreased. Then I could not afford to get synthroid and it did not really matter than much the difference so I decided to go back to Levothroxine and right away after few days I ballooned up my joints were hurting, my hair fell off but not as much as when I was in Amour, foggy brain.
Next I decided to try Levoxyl which is also name brand like Synthroid but it is discontinued in a lot of places. So I got it for three months and my pharmacist warned me they won't be able to get it. Yes it was better than Levothyroxine I didn't feel like a balloon but I guess I was ok then most of them but my blood levels on it was totally hyper with hypo symptoms. I know I had to do something because what am I going to take after I am done with Levoxyl? So I tried to go back to Levothyroxine and OMG my ankles and my legs swelled up like I was pregnant for few days so I switched back to Levoxyl and it went away.
I am trying to work out 4 to 5 days, eating healthy foods but it is not shedding any weight. I just got my Tonalin CLA supplement that reduce body fats, today and started taking that. I know it is a slow process so lets see what happens. And they need to seriously check that medication. It has a lot of bad symptoms. I don't understand why FDA would take down Levothyroid with worked for me and I am sure it worked for others too and replace it with Levothroxine which is causing bad symptoms.
I think when we have hypothyroid it makes it worse to shed weight because our metabolism is totally controlled by our thyroid gland. No matter how much or what kind of medication we take for our thyroid it will never be same as what our body produces naturally. Doctors always look at only the blood test and within the range. As long as you are within that range you are good and they don't really care about our symptoms. I was on only 10 milligrams , gained weight, stopped taking it and dropped 11lbs in two weeks, would rather be tired than feel miserable all the time when I was taking it.
Yep, happened to me. I will tell you what I did but I am not sure it is safe for everyone. I cranked up my T4 when I was on Levo, that enabled me to generate enough T3 to become "normal" again. I think I pushed myself into a little bit "Hyper" just a little bit because I didn't have to eat carefully, I didn't have to exercise , nothing, the weight just peeled off. I felt normal for 2 years. Then something awful happened, my doctor retired and my next doctor who was an Endo said that my TSH was too low and told me to reduce my dose, I did as I was told I will never do that again!
I still got the "lets reduce your dose" line, but this time I am increasing the dose on my own, and my weight is dropping. Doctors are hung up on this TSH reading and will not measure T3, the very hormone which will make us feel normal and give us the energy to move around and therefore not put on weight.
There are so many reports of these symptoms, I don't know why nothing changes. I have been on it about 8 months and i swear i'm gaining weight.
How is this possible. Will the weight gain slow down. I have been on Levo for approx 3 years. Never had a weight problem. Right away I began gaining weight and it is still climbing. I eat very little. I don't trust the medical profession anymore. It is big business and it all revolves around money. I am thinking of discontinuing this Med also. I feel it has screwed my system up. I need to get back to what is natural. Physicians don't want to take time from their busy schedule to listen to how you feel.
They know so much. I know my body pretty well. What works for one may not for another. He said, "I am talking. I have to now rely on my own intuition. Very sad what this industry has done to itself. I started taking my meds in , I started with Hyper thyroids and now I am Hypo I am still at and have been for years. I did get to but gained my weight back quick. I have dieted, exercised, walked, and I can't seem to lose weight.
I was never this big until I started taking these meds. I read someone else gained weight and they look like they were 6 months pregnant, that's how I look. My stomach is out there and it is uncomfortable and doesn't look right. I have decided to stop taking these meds at least for 6 months to see what happens. If I lose weight, than I know it was the meds. I hope this helped. I went to my endocrinologist begging someone to answer why I sweat so severely and this year I can't tolerate heat.
It makes me insane going out in oppressive heat. Never mind in six years going from to on the scale. He shook my hand and said, "your T4 is in a great range mcg of med. Sorry your feeling loisy. Have you thought of losing weight? I replied, " not for the lack of trying.
He said, " maybe you should try gastric by pass. There is nothing I can do for you. I wish you all the best. Needless to say he is not my doctor. But the kicker is that I am not allowed to going to any other doctor with the Froedtert systom because because they have this crazy rules.
I stupid is that. I take levothyroxine and Dr told me to lose weight. I've been on strict diet due to taking these pills I gained 25 lbs.. I was in years!! I don't want to take them. They stress me out trying to lose weight n I'm gaining. I am getting depressed if anything. Diagnosed 6 yrs ago hypothyroidism my Dr has increased my mcg to my weight has gone from to I stopped taking levo for several months and I lost a few pounds. Decided to see an endocrinologist and see if there were other problems, all she did was check thyroid put me back on levo and I gained 5 more pounds.
I hate this medication. I am going back to all natural way, again. My Dr said I would be so tired bc my thyroid levels would be low. Well I am fine. Will check back in 2 months to update. All I can say is if you are considering quitting the drug The exact same thing has happened to me, I exercise, eat right, and the scale won't budge. I am also extremely fatigued and tried, so the other I decided to stop taking this med and this is my second day off and boy the energy I have.
I will be anxious to see if the weight comes off, went from to I am happy to report that since March my weight has gone from down to I do exercise and watch what I eat. I take daily vitamins and B12 which was recommended when I was diagnosed.
I am not tired as doctor predicted. I wish everyone luck if you get off this evil medication. I'm in a similar situation - can you share how long it took to lose weight gained on Synthroid and any special things you did to get there? I stopped taking med in March. I exercise 3 or 4 times week on my Gazelle for 30 minutes. I drink lots of water, no sodas and ocassionally tea.
I have lost 5 more lbs since July. My pregnant looking belly is GONE!!! She started at 50mcg then to 75mcg and stayed there until last year. Almost immediately she started to gain weight rapidly She has gained between 25 to 30 lbs mainly in her middle and has a belly which she never had before Her T3 was in range but on low end of range but her GP refused to add T3 or put her on dessicated.
The GP is her primary care Dr. I should her this site with so many having same issue. I have lost 22 pounds on the program while eating things like chocolate cake. Unlike Medifast, the food is delicious. If you are thinking of trying the plan but are afraid that you will not like the food please stop worrying.
The Nutrisystem plan comes with a great menu with foods on the menu that are very delicious. I have lost 32 pounds and finally feel like I may make my goal of losing I wasn't thrilled with the food when I started, but now that I can choose the foods that I really like it is much better. I love the pizzas loaded with red pepper or onions and pineapple. We've had out of town company and been to many family gatherings, where I used to overeat.
I find that when I have my own food that I like and because I am rarely hunger now, that the temptation to cheat is just not there. I also love most of the desserts, but who doesn't: Five years ago I lost 62 lbs on NS, but over the years I gained back 38 lbs. Now I am back on the system and intend to stay until I reach my goal weight.
My co-worker is using Jenny Craig but it was just to cost prohibitive for me. I've tried her meals and honestly didn't think they were as tasty as Nutrisystems are. Just 65 Pounds Left To Go 4 out of 5 stars. I am on my 10th day on Nutrisystem and I absolutely love it!
The food is great and a lot better tasting than Jenny Craig. I have lost 8 pounds so far and am really excited. I have 65 more to go to reach my goal weight. The website is full of good information and tons of motivation which I need and love!! Anyone can do this diet. At 32 years old, I had surpassed pounds and went on a diet with Slimfast Shakes and low fat dinners that I made. I was single at the time and had the time to prepare my own meals and exercise vigorously for about an hour 5 days a week.
Needless to say, I did lose 40 lbs in 3 months, but it was hard work and I was always hungry. I'm now 40 years old now and after several failed starts I decided to give Nutrisystem a go. Being married with 2 children, my time is much more limited now.
Nutrisystem is perfect for this reason as I don't have to count calories — it's all done online for me. The meals are reasonably good and you can pretty much choose the meals you want. The first month I went with the default menu and selected the meals I liked best for the second and third month. I'm following the menu strictly and my caloric intake is around calories a day.
All in all, I have been on the diet for 42 days and I have lost 23 lbs and 3 inches off my waist! This program is well worth it! I needed to go on a diet. I had gained 25 pounds over the last year and I could not fit into any of my clothes. I did not want to go buy a whole new wardrobe when I already had a perfectly good one. With Nutrisystem I have access to a website that allows me to track my weight loss progress.
I enjoy logging onto the website and seeing how far I have come. I also get support from the website. I enjoy almost all of the foods Nutrisystem has to offer. They all taste pretty good. The best part of Nutrisystem is that I have lost weight with a program that is extremely easy to follow. I liked many aspects of the diet; however, I thought the food portions were too small. Maybe I'm too used to supersizing everything? The Nutrisystem plan does work though. When I was using the plan I lost about fifteen pounds.
The plan was also very easy to follow. I did not have to weigh out food. I did not have to count calories. I did not have to figure out which foods to eat to lose weight. I just had to follow the instructions that came with the plan and eat the food that the plan provided me with. When I joined the Nutrisystem plan I also received 24 hour access to the Nutrisystem web site where I could chat with someone for support daily if I needed to.
Haven't used it, but its nice to know its there for me. The food was just as tasty as pre-cooked frozen meals you buy in the grocery store. I enjoyed many of the foods that Nutrisystem offers. The desserts and snacks were delicious. The dinners are done very nicely with foods that are very tasteful and full of flavor. The breakfasts were good I especially liked the pancakes. The lunches were also good. The thing I did not like about Nutrisystem was that the portions of foods they provided were too small.
The program is extremely easy to use. Any man can join the program and expect to lose weight easily. I joined the plan and Nutrisystem sent me dieting tools, instructions on how to use the plan and great tasting foods. I also have access to Nutrisystems website. The website includes chat rooms, blogs, and group discussions about dieting. The website is a great place for me to go to receive support.
I have not felt this energetic in awhile. I now have the energy to get through the day without feeling so tired. I even have enough energy to work out. Without the Nutrisystem plan I would still be overweight, unhealthy and unhappy. Without Nutrisystem I would still be eating unhealthy and gaining weight instead of losing weight. I joined Nutrisystem two and a half months ago.
When I first started the program it was an adjustment I had to get used to. I was used to overeating all of the time. With Nutrisystem the food portions are designed to be just right so a person gets the nutrition he needs and still loses weight. I had to get used to eating the right sized portion instead of overeating. Once I adjusted to eating differently the plan started to really work. The plan is easy to follow and comes with instructions on how to do so.
I am losing weight easily. I am feeling healthier every day. I am enjoying the foods I am eating, and I am enjoying the compliments I am receiving on my weight loss. I joined the Nutrisystem plan because I knew I was headed in the wrong direction with my body weight. I decided to start going to a gym. However, I did not know how to start eating right. I pick the food I want to eat from the menu that Nutrisystem provides. Nutrisystem also shows me how to plan what to eat for the day.
The foods are really good. I love some of them, like most of them and only disliked one or two items out of the whole menu. One of my favorite foods from Nutrisystem is their Mexican style tortilla soup, it's great.
As far as diets go Nutrisystem is a great plan. When I was on the Nutrisystem plan it worked for me. I lost weight, learned to eat healthier and felt great. Nutrisystem is also extremely easy to follow. The plan comes with easy to follow instructions on how to use the program to work for you. When I was on the plan my wife and children would eat their food while I ate my Nutrisystem food.
Her food was hard to resist; however, I stuck to the Nutrisystem plan because their food also tastes good. I ate good food every day. Foods such as blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, honey mustard pretzel sticks, beef stew and broiled beef patties.
Nutrisystem truly does go to great lengths to help make losing weight easy. I wanted to lose 20 pounds, but ended up shaving off 30 pounds thanks to Nutrisystem. Nutrisystem is the best diet plan I have ever tried. I have tried to diet a few other times in my life but I could not stick to the diet. With Nutrisystem I do not have to learn recipes.
I do not have to learn to eat better foods. I do not have to count calories. I do not have to weigh food. With Nutrisystem all I have to do is follow the instructions and eat the foods Nutrisystem supplies. When I joined Nutrisystem I was afraid the food would taste terrible as I had read a review online saying so.
Of course there are a few foods that do not suit my taste such as the eggs frittata; however, most of the foods are delicious. For breakfast I can eat pancakes, blueberry pancakes, cinnamon buns or oatmeal.
