What Equipment Is Needed For Body Beast?

The “Real Deal” Body Beast Workout Review
May 18, at 6: November 15, at 2: I think Wampler velvet fuzz is not good enough to put on this list. I have a beach trip in about 1 month and a half. Sure I mean doing it at different times is better than not doing it at all right? Honestly whatever works for you and feels good. November 30, at 5:

What Is Body Beast?

Another pedal I love is the Austone Textone which is not made anymore. Any fuzz made by Analogman, I own the dark peppermint and its the Bomb. I own the Hoof Reaper, it is insanity. So many options for tone. Already had my eyes on a few others as well. Thank you for the giveaway!

Currently enjoying 3 fuzzalicious war toys: I am biased as I own one and like it with the buffer switch on. That Rainger looks pretty twisted! I see myself using it for a loooooooong time. Always thought the Fuzz Factory was awesome, but there is a massive difference between the original Vexter and the Fat FF! Massive fan of all of the Big Muff pedals too! I really like that you guys included the weird stuff! I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of unfamiliar pedals on this list, thanks for the article.

I also bought a Fuzz Factory a month before the Fat version came out… gutted! Man, all of these are making me drool. Feel lost without it. And the big muff is also Nice, i use the Big muff Pi and i really enjoy it, so i think the big muff with tone wicker is awesome! Freakenstein and the Janus are definitely two favorites of mine. I think a Devi Ever Rocket or Shoegazer deserves to be on this list somewhere, though. Happy to see the Janus on the list. Brady makes great pedals and I love my Voyager overdrive.

The Fuzz God II has been ruling my board for a little over a year. I would love to have all that fuzz in my life, on my face, for my axe, and my bass. I use the Psychedelic Sasquatch by Tortuga Effects for my fuzz needs. Perhaps that should have been on the list as well. I know I love mine. Frankenstein fuzz to hear with my own ears how crazy it can get.

Mayor kudos on the HoofReaper, by far the coolest most wicked fuzz pedal out there! Thanks for this great rundown on the best fuzz pedals! I will be referring to this often, I expect. I would like to hear more about Wampler Pedals Fuzz Boxes as well. Maybe also some pedals where the manufacturers are now out of business and are getting hard to find. Fuzz circuits are so simple yet can be so diverse from maker to maker! Fuzz is the greatest type of effect out there. I need a ZVEX fuzz factory.

Frusciante uses one to awesome effect. Gotta also give it up to the Janus, it always looked like such an interesting pedal, and Walrus Audio makes fantastic pedals! I wish my tremolo could do what the Cusack does…. Nice overview, the Apocalypse totally caught my attention. It behaves very well on valve amps. Not very friendly with my wah.. Sometimes someone nails it right from the get go and VLAD certainly did yrs before the whole wacky named boutique effects pedal industry came about.

I have a Germanium Big Muff, it is hands down better than the Tone Wicker, adjustable voltage and bias and separate overdrive. Of the pedals you selected I really like the hoof reaper — and thought it may be a bit older my favourite fuzz is the Himmelstrutz Gramps. I must also give you props for selecting some more imaginative pedals. Would live to give some of them a whirl!! Death By Audio Apocalypse looks like it could be just the right amount of dark-sounding fuzz for my ears I adore crushing Russian Muff tones.

Love fuzz tones and the fuzz factory is one of my favourite fuzz pedals, too bad that the really good pedals are always that expensive.

Never played with a fuzz pedal, but I would think, after many years the EHX should have perfected the Big Muff to stay on top of all the other boutique companies.

They definitely have one of the best prices. However Walrus keeps on slaying me with their pedals, I would love the Janus. However I would probably die if they released a Kerberos - Janus with an Iron Horse, how mental would that be! Also—damn your fine print for us poor fuzz heads outside of the US, I would gladly pay the shipping.

Wow, what an impressive array of fuzz pedals. Did not realize there was so much variety in controls. Bought a locally made fuzz, the Toxic Fuzz, earlier this year. Though the Hoof Reaper really got my attention…. Really hilarious review of the Red Witch fuzz pedal! Sounds great with a univibe for that great Robin Trower sound.

First time I saw the Janus I thought it was a gimmicky folly. Then I looked at demo videos because guys were gushing about it. Thing does some amazing tricks. Thanks for bringing all these killer fuzz pedals together. I love fuzz and I would like to use a few different pedals with varying settings as there are so many tonal possibilities. Great selection of pedals guys! Thanks for making my continuing search for great new tones a little easier but now I have to convince my wife I need one!

Argh… only other effects junkies understand! Diggin this site bigtime…! Gabriel, your passion is contagious. Any of these fuzz boxes would be awesome on my violins. Thanks for the chance to win one of these babies.. I think the Bigg Muff is awsome. You can never have too much fuzz, some good choices there but there are a bunch not on there as well!! Would love to win one of these. EQD Hoof is just amazing! I love most of the Muff clones out there, but I need more!

You can never have too much fuzz! I was hoping to see the Blackout Effectors Very Special Twosome in this list, because that;s the one i swear by. It was a toss-up between that and the Red Witch Fuzz God but I read too many bad reviews about the reliability of the Fuzz God so went for the Twosome. Nice list that fuzz factory is mental, certainly fuzz. Thanks for the reviews very helpful fantastic site.

Thanks again for your great reviews, lol man I have decisions to make here! Devi has more fuzz that I know what to do with and still tops my Must Have list. There are so many fuzz tone choices out there…almost too many.

So many fuzz pedals! Thanks for compiling the pedals in one place. I love getting my fuzz set in such a way that a chord seems as though it was magically played from one string.

Would love to try some DBA fuzz one day. Yeah Cancion its really amazing..!! I also looking for these some best fuzz pedal in the last few days, finally i found this. The Best of the Best.

Fuzzy awesomeness on this list! Thanks for the selection! I have 4 pedals on this list. Formula 76 is a monster! Nothing nice about it and I love it! I think the Suhr Rufus Reloaded needs to be on this list. Robert A Herrmann says: This list has me feeling all warm and fuzzy. So many awesome contenders out there…great selection! My fuzz factory just died glad to see tons of options to replace it. The choice here is amazing — such a versatile effect. Liking the trend for exposing the innards of the pedals through a window. A fantastic list thanks. Such a versatile effect — the range of tones is great. Love the paint job on the Necromancer and would hope it sounds as awesome as it looks.

Paul Van Heuklom says: Great overview on the fuzzes — now I need to play through them! I have a good muff pedal…. All this fuzz in one place??! So many creative pedals. It might be time to buy my first Fuzz. Thanks for the reviews! I love them all but that fat fuzz factory makes my mouth drool. This is a great selection — good job folks! With so many great pedals out there, lists like this are great for giving you a place to start. All of them look cool!! Looking forwardd to add a nice fuzz to my collection.

Tomkat Pedals Violet Muffer deserves a mention. But these all look, and I imagine, sound great! I need a different fuzz pedal for each day of the month.

One day I am going to have a board full of only fuzz pedals. You can never have enough! Would love to get my hands on a lot of these.

Wow, what a lovely list! Loved my Cloven Hoof, glad to see Earthquaker all over this list. So many flavors, so little time. I do need to get a new fuzz, some interesting pedals on here. Fat Fuzz Factory has been 1 on my want list. Would be in heaven if I won one! May 11, at How about Fuzzhugger e. February 5, at 6: November 8, at 9: So much win in the list for bass, too. They have one guy in the workouts using the ball…. For best results I would say have a bench, pull up bar and more weights, but honestly I was more sore then ever with just the adjustable up to 25lb and that exercise ball LOL!

All I can say is beast up! When you see the toned body you want you can dial it down a bit. It is very hard for a woman to get very muscular so I think you will do just fine. I really want a nice build for my body. Should I still go through both the build and the bulk stage and complete the Body Beast program.

Decided to give Beast a go. I just turned 51 and I have a PT test next week. I look forward to out doing the 20, 30 and now 40 year olds. Good info on your posts!! I am a wife of a United Marine — my husband has always been in pretty good shape — I on the other hand have been in olay shape — I have been looking for a workout that will total transform my body but where I will have the time to dedicate as well. I am looking to get ripped and cut but not lose my womanly features if you will — I would like to give my husband a WOW factor when he sees me — he is currently deployed and will not return until August of — will this program help me to get in shape and not have a manly figure when he returns — any assistance and help will be greatly appreciated.

This workout will honestly do it all for you. Stay in the higher rep range and pay attention to how your body adapts. Would you suggest this for a 15 year old who is trying to beef up and get stronger for wrestling? Hey Kevin I would probably have him doing more functional type workouts and maybe some power lifting type moves for the strength.

Is he a freshmen now? Insanity Asylum is a great overall sports training workout https: Unless you are like HULK strong it is going to be technique and strategy that will have him winning in the long rung… Just my 2 cents!

I was wondering if this would be suited for a very skinny person with no weight lifting experience. My goal is to add muscle.

Yeah Matt ya gotta learn some time right? Start light so you can focus on form the first week or so, then go up a bit in weight. I think you will do great! Be prepared to be very sore. You might even want to do half the amount of sets the first week….. OR better yet maybe stick to just the 15 rep sets and skip the others for the first week. See how you feel. I am muscular but not shredded love handles, and a bit of a gut.

If I did this program could I replace my fat with muscle and stay within 2lb of my weight class or would I have to wrestle at the next weight class lb? Randy seems like you need to focus on just cleaning up your diet. I mean if you are in high school and wrestling you are prob working out like a mad man in practice! I would stick to your training you are doing now.. Stop drinking soda if you do, no candy garbage or other bad carbs like french fries, white breads etc…..

Find healthy replacements… veggies, fruits, drink a ton of water… keep your protein up as well. Man I wish I had a tiny clue about nutrition in highschool. I pretty much always ate what I wanted which was all bad, but I was always in shape because i was playing sports and so active. If I would have changed up just a portion of my diet or cut out just soda and candy I would have had a crazy six pack!

Start eating right now… trust me! As far as this program it wold help with muscle but and fat loss for sure, but I would not do this if you are in season. No, but if you follow the workout you will do great. Focus on the build and stick to the higher rep range. Best results would be to have barbell and bench, but you can do with just dumbbells and a blow up exercise ball.

That is how I started doing this and it was fine. Does this program work without adjustable dumbbells? I have to manually change the plates on my dumbbells and know that would effect the time between reps.

You can get the quick change sets, or use yours just work fast. Just purchased Body Beast! Did you encounter this issue? If so, how did you deal with it? I have not streamed it to be honest. I would give seconds between sets…. I know it varies as the workouts go on. Would it even be possible for me to begin this and even keep up? Hey Josh, if you have not done much it might be a bit intense to be honest.

Take a look at this https: I been working out via bodybuilding. I just got the Body Beast and after 2 work outs I feel the soreness.

Thought I would be use to it after working out non-stop for 16 months. The way they go at it and amount of breaks is what I needed. Looking forward to the work outs.

Congrats on the 50lb! Yeah man it is a great workout! Straight to the point and it works you! Good to change things up! I think you are going to see the best results yet in a few months from now. I am a 59 year old woman that worked out regularly most of my life. I play volleyball, water and snow ski so am not a couch potato Always struggled with weight.

I let it get out of control 5 years ago, but lost 45 pounds in two years with the help of p90x. I had shoulder surgery last year and then 6 months later arthritis surgery on my left hand. I got out of my workout routine due to the surgeries and working 10 to 12 hours a day.

I am now fairly flabby. I want to know which workout would be best for me to get rid of the old lady chicken arms and tone up my legs. Should I just go back to p90x,or p90x3 which I have or get body beast. After reading your site, I just ordered it. You stick with it you will get results plain and simple! I am female 24yr old.

Im not wanting to lose weight but I want to tone and gain muscle form. Ive had 2 children so somethings arent where id like thwm to be lol. Would you recommend this for someone as small as me? Yeah this program will work for you. I think Body Beast will get you there faster for sure. I need to get in shape to maintain my quality of life and my kidney.

I have no recourse, I have to get in shape! That is the spirit! Take a look at P90 and of course you need to talk with your doctor since you have had the transplant.

I do not know what limitations you may have medically. I have been looking into buying beast body for a while. I did t25 program alpha, beta, and gamma and dropped 25 pounds!!! Was so proud of myself. But sadly I have push excersise aside and gained all 25 pounds again putting me back at ! Im ready to get back on shape but this time I want to add mass muscle. Turning fat to muscle. Which you recommend doing first build or bulk phase? I was thinking starting bulk first ro build fat to muscle then cut it with build phase.

Also adding a whey protein low in fat for recovery and eat clean. Any pointers will help thanks for your time and reply!

Planning to buy powerblock adjustable 50 pounds each dumbbells and adjustable bench. Hey I would do the build phase…. Cut out the junk. You will get results if you follow this workout, but make sure it is not just about the next 90 days, but after that or else as we all know the old habits start and the weight comes back. That was the story of my life till I decided I was going to change how I eat and live. Do u think body beast could help me get back to my high school size without pushing me to hard?

Of course it can! There is one thing you will need to do though…. I am here for you! Lets do it man is the year to get back!

I really enjoyed the review. I run half marathons a year but have noticed the muffin top is worse this year than in the past.

I think body beast would do you well. Depending on how your running schedule is maybe add beast 2 or 3 days a week and see how your body responds. T25 is good, but I think it will just add to your cardio which is all fine and good, but you def need some resistance training. Could I go to the gym and do my workouts there and use their equipment?

Any suggestions you have would be awesome! Also diet, what should I be eating more of and less of? Hey there I pretty much go over what you need int he review above, but if you can get your hands on an adjustable dumbbell set lbs or a few dumbbells and a exercise ball you will be good to go! As far as P90X if you just stick to the workouts where you are lifting I think you would be fine with your current cardio, just do your running instead of the P90X cardio days.

With that you can get way with workout bands. Just saw a commercial for Body Beast. I am a 5 foot 2, 23 year old mom to a one year old. I just want to be tone and honestly, cut. I am wondering if this is the program for me. This after baby belly is driving me crazy! I dont know what to do. Thanks in advance for all your help! Oh yeah it will do it! You want to be cut, you have to clean up the diet.

Keep track of calories in and calories out. Belly fat is all DIET! That is a big deal! Just be patient and consistent and you will get the results you are looking for.

I was thinking of combining body beast and insanity. Do you have any recommendations? Oh yeah that is a great idea!! I did that before with BB and wrote about it with P90X here https: Good stuff by Amanda.

I am halfway through BB now…. Already making slight adjustments. I add an extra arms day in place of rest. Thought I might try the following routine when I complete BB. Let me know your thoughts on it! Then repeat, no rest day or take one if needed. Gets you 2 cardio days which beast lacks. I am a 40 year old that loves exercising.

I wanted to buy body beast but I have a shoulder that has limited movement in due to rotary cuff surgery years ago. Can I still get the benefits from body beast? I would take it easy if you had shoulder surgery. You really have to know your body and how it will react. If I were to do this workout with an old injury I would use light weight and make sure your form is perfect and any sign of pain..

Thank you for answering the shoulder injury question. I so wanted to buy this program. A previous P90x user years ago. Out of shape after 1 year of online classes an no time for work outs.

So now it is bands and treadmill. Was hoping this BB would be something I could do. But a frozen shoulder,? I drink Syntha 6 protein powder. I was just wanting your advise on my protein intake, and what I should cut out of my diet?? Yea they usually say 1 to 1. I am sure you will here different opinions on that, but it is a good measure to stick to. A pre and post shake is def a good idea.

I would say mix a banana or something in either one as well to get some real food in there. Whats the diet like for body beast? Is it a ton of protein and just carbs in the evening so you get shredded?

I magine you have to have a fairly high calorific intake when you do this. I have done p90x and saw great results. I was thinking about doing another 90 day round of p90x to work on strengthening up more before trying Body Beast. Chris this sounds interesting to me. I am going to be 74 in April and am very energetic. I want to burn fat and eat right. I do work 6 days a week now in a gym and could use their equipment. Could this be too hard for me?

I am sure at this stage in your life you know how to listen to your body. So if it seems to tough dial it back a notch! I know cardio is an important part of any workout but P90x is way too intense for me right now, cardio wise. Would this be a good program to get back into having some type of physical activity in my life? To be honest this may just rock your world! You might look into P90 which was created to help you get back into shape or start new.

Take a peak here https: My main goal is to pack some muscle on my legs. I already have some muscle and definition on my upper body but beening a woman I whant more butt and legs. What would you recommend? I mean if you can do it then go for it! Just listen to your body… those are big muscles and need that time to heal.. Hey Chris, I would like to explain my situation and get your feedback as I am also considering BodyBeast….

Anyways, I first started working out in June and did Insanity month 1 twice and then did month 2. I was extremely cut and lean, however I lacked mass I was down to lbs. So I decided to go on to P90X. I really think going on to BodyBeast next and mixing in Insanity is going to help me achieve my goal of building muscle mass, yet maintaining low body fat. What are your thoughts on this? Does this sound right for me?

Thanks in advance for your time! Hey Chad nice work! Well I mean you need to burn calories for energy right? People get so afraid of eating more! Sometimes you have to… just make the right choices. GO and google BMR calculator. You need to eat more protein and good carbs if you want to put size on.

The guide that comes with body beast will put you on the right track. The time you will save is worth it! It is also not just about eating, but when you eat…. Pre pregnancy I weighed around and Gained to At my two week check up I was back down to Suggestions and is body beast going to take a long time? Such as are the workouts lengthy? I go to bed when my baby goes to bed lol.

Well to be honest Focus T25 might be a better fit https: I just finished the second week of BB. I have actually gained weight. I am staying to the meal plan as close as I can. I was just wondring if this is normal? Will I gain before I get shredded?

Hey Wes it all depends what kind of weight… the scale can be deceiving… try to go off how your clothes are fitting and how you are feeling. It is only the second week as well..

I always notice new changes about every 2 weeks…. How is the diet? Just because you are lifting does not mean you can still eat bad.. I was eating a very high protien diet with very little carbs. The meal plan for the first 2 phases has me eating about half the protien that I was. Should I go back to the high protien or stay with the meal plan? I have noticed the most around my mid section. My jeans fit a little tighter.

Hey Chris, I have both P90X and body beast. Feb 1st is my start for either p90X or body beast. Would you suggest p90x or body beast? I would love to put on lean muscle. My intentions are to lean up. Hey Ty you could try 2 weeks beast… 2 weeks p90x I have done that before and repeat… its greaT! I have completed two rounds of p90x and one round of p90x3. I am currently doing p90x2 and I have recently bought Body Beast. I was wanting to incorporate this workout into my p90x2 schedule…any ideas.

I was thinking of using the two days a week that are normally scheduled for the recovery and mobility days as my days to add Body Beast. Thanks for any suggestions! He Eric I here you although I do like the recovery in p90x2.

I do that on my own with my rumble roller watching TV lol. You might want to do something like 3 days beast and 2 p90x2 doing the more cardio or core workouts from p90x2. I think you will see a huge difference in just weeks of adding body beast! Shock to the system for sure! Being honest, I cannot say how diligent I would be with the diet portion of it… and I love beer.

Yea man calories in calories out… Beer…. I mean if you just add working out you will get more muscle and feel better, but if you really want to feel better and see a huge difference then we both know you have to cut out some more of the beer and clean the diet up. Would this work for me? Honestly any working out and eating clean can work for you. This program will work if you follow it and do it… You want to lose lbs? That might take you months so you need to understand that, but that is fine!

Getting in shape is not just about some 60 day or 90 day program it is about what you do during and after… You can do it man! Stay the course and you will have your results. Hi Chris, Over the summer I broke my leg so badly I had to have a plate, pins and screws put in. I realize you are not a doctor, but if it is just weight lifting, I wonder if it would be good. Any insight would be very helpful. Sorry to hear that. I would say that this workout would be perfect then.

Take some precautions on the leg workout and make sure you are comfortable with the movements. Of course ask the doctor, but I would think you be ok. Hey Lori… this is def a tough workout with the lifting, but I think if you go at your own pace you will be fine…. If you follow along with them it goes pretty quick, but you can take and extra minute or so between sets if needed.

I would prob lay off the cardio workout, that is pretty intense…. Remember even if you go for 2 or 3 minutes then take a break it is better than none right? I am currently doing Insanity Max: I am considering starting Body Beast next. My overall goal is to have a toned, strong physique. I do NOT want to be slim. I want to keep my womanly curves but tight and with definition For example I love thick, strong thighs versus slender ones.

With all being said, would your recommend Body Beast for my particular fitness goals? Or maybe one of the other programs? I think beast is just what you need! When I first did this workout over a year ago, I had really just been doing insanity, running, etc… not too much lifting..

Some p90x here and there. My body responded great to this workout! You will love the leg workout! I think this will put you right where you need to be… the cardio workout is pretty tough too but you can swap in some max 30 if you want as well.

Hello Kay sorry to jump in on your comments. I am interested in the same build you mention. I just purchased BB and am wondering how you like or dislike it?

Hey Chris, I am 32, and just out of the Army, so I am in pretty alright shape. I do have a gut and hips. I was thinking about getting back in the gym, especially with some depression issues, as I hear that this will help with that as well as my meds.

I was wondering does this actually come with a diet plan, or will I have to figure this out myself. I think this program will work, especially with my anxiety in the gym, but I am still on the fence. Yup diet plan and all. The one thing I can say is YES exercising will help with depression for sure. As far as anxiety in the gym, that is what is great about working out at home.

And… to be honest at most gyms people are pretty helpful. I just ordered the Body Beast program and am currently doing T I was also wondering about the food side of life. I bounce on and off eating plans and suck at consistently eating the correct foods. Any suggestions — is it moderation is it forget the bad stuff completely.

Any suggestions would be great! Love your site good information. Hey Danny I hear ya man!! Diet is always tough… I know I was up and down for years with eating great… good…. When I started realizing where the wasted calories were and how bad certain things are for you like soda, candy, processed junk I really saw a change.

That is not to see I never eat that stuff here and there. I always try to be really good during the week and the weekends get a bit lazy, but when you can really stay consistent 6 days of the week the changes will be amazing! Start a food journal for a week and then look at what you are eating and the actually nutrition info in each… calories, fat, sodium etc… you might be amazed. Here is an example! I drink coffee… I always have a cup in the morning… then maybe mid morning and afternoon although lately I have been doing green tea.

I used to just dump half and half in… I started looking at the calories in it and wow just wasted. I know do like a tbsp and that is it, but the amount of calories I do not eat… crazy… 1 tbsp is 20 calories… I probably used to just dump at least 5 in there so that is calories… in one serving…. Now it all could all vary, but it is a good example of wasted calories and how a closer look at what you eat can make all the difference.

People will come on and be like wahhh wahhh you drink coffee and have half and half LOL… This is real life we are all going to bounce back and forth have good and bad things, but I think if we can find a happy medium, stay consistent and learn as we go it is better than this crash diets and silly ways of eating people try to do.

Just wanted to ask you what your thoughts are on whether I should start BodyBeast or something more cardio related ie. Hey man you said it yourself! It is just keeping to it.. Most of these workouts are days a week. Not only is it tough physically, it is tough mentally.

It took me a long time to figure that out… Missing one workout would throw me off mentally and ruin the rest of the week! If you really are short on time, than T25 or Insanity Max 30 is probably perfect! Get in get out… https: Can Body Beast help me? Do you really have cilieac disease? Have you been tested? I only ask because I hear that a lot and it is very rare.

With that said the diet is very good… anything that has gluten you can avoid. I honestly think that P90 might be a better workout for you though https: Could you clarify what you mean by that? I have heard this is the phase where you tend to gain weight instead of lose. Lastly, do you feel we NEED to take all of the supplements to be successful? Thank you in advance! You can always increase and follow the workout to a T of course.

If you gain muscle you will gain weight. You do not need all the supps, but you need to eat clean and get the right foods in you. I always take a protein shake, shakeology too. You really have to just get in there and start and learn how your body reacts. We are all different…. Oh yeah beast will get you jacked. Just keep track of weights you are using and what you are eating. Chris, body beast or T 25? Thanks for the information! I ordered Body Beast and should be gettingvit beginning of this week.

I see that you are also training for mud runs, Spartan races,etc..
